About this chapter

This chapter of the National Cancer Prevention Policy presents information about breast cancer screening and related policy. It will be updated as significant new literature is published or changes in the policy environment occur.

The chapter was developed by Cancer Council Australia's Cancer Screening Committee, in March 2014 and endorsed by the principal Public Health Committee. It was externally reviewed by Professor Alexandra Barratt, Professor in Epidemiology, The University of Sydney; Professor Bruce Mann, Professor of Surgery, The University of Melbourne and Director of Breast Service, Royal Melbourne and Royal Women's Hospital; and Professor Julietta Patnick, Director, NHS Cancer Screening Programmes. The chapter was published in July 2014.
