Cryopreservation of testicular tissue before puberty

Testicular tissue biopsy samples from prepubertal boys have been cryopreserved in the expectation of successful future transplantation of spermatogonial stem cells.[1] This is an investigational procedure that so far has not been successfully applied to humans. It should only be considered in the context of an HREC approved clinical trial.
