Size of effect
2 Reason for decision: main comparison is lack of difference in wound complications eg., 26% vs 38%; p=0.31, or 16%vs27%; p=0.39)
Relevance of evidence
3 Additional comments: All patients in this series received radiotherapy (brachytherapy). This report compared this group to a smaller group whom received both brachytherapy and external beam radiotherapy. The recurrence rates and efficacy are consistent with previous reports. Probably the most relevant outcome to assess is to postoperative morbidity, which confirms minimal increase in surgical morbidity (when compared to their previous trial of brachy+surg vs surg alone).
