tumor
In the current study, seven patients with known
infertility prior to the diagnosis of a borderline ovarian
tumor were treated with IVF after the primary surgery.
Two of these patients also were treated with IVF prior
to diagnosis, and remained without evidence of disease
at the time of last follow-up. Four of seven patients
developed a recurrence. In two cases the recurrence
appeared prior to the IVF treatment. In the other
2 patients, the recurrence occurred in the residual
ovary within 44 months and 50 months, respectively,
after the first IVF cycle and could be related to the
infertility treatment. Both patients were without evidence
of disease at the time of last follow-up, 26
months and 15 months, respectively, after the recurrence,
and 50 months and 46 months, respectively,
since the diagnosis of the tumor.
