Comments

Note: study only included intellectually disabled people who were institutionalised.

NOTE: person-years of Barrett's Oesophagus was apparently estimated from a sample of just 386 people, while 8673 people (who did not have Barrett's Oesophagus) were observed occurrence of new cases was recorded for 8673 people. I am therefore uncertain if the total number of patients for this study should really be counted as 28987. See Figure 1 in the paper.

A 6 year observational study. Can't find any mention of the median/mean follow up time, or the percentage that were followed up.

2.5 adenocarcinoma cases per 1000 person-years (3.5 for males, 1.2 for females).
